Esoteric Christianity
An initiatory course exploring creation as pattern, meaning, and lived experience.
Join Matt Krepps from CYS on a journey into your heartÂ
via an interactive course that focuses on recovering our ability to read, interpret, and be transformed by a selection of key stories from the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Gospels.Â
Modern reading habits train us to extract information.
Sacred texts were written to re-pattern perception.
This course restores an ancient way of seeing—one in which meaning is not imposed on reality, but revealed through it.
Creation as a Living Pattern
Creation is not something that happened once.
It is a pattern that is still happening—in the world, and in you.
Begins Wednesday, January 21st, 2026
@7:30 PM CST
This is an interactive course that runs (7) consecutive weeks and consists of lectures (45m - 1hr) and group processing of the materials (20 - 30 mins).
A short reading list of passages will be provided ahead of time, so you can come prepared, as well as a full-color, beautifully imaged handout.
To facilitate integration, simple practices will be given between sessions, which in turn will be discussed during available time, so you can share your experience.
Spiritual traditions across the world have long recognized that sacred writings and stories have an outer and an inner aspect, or an obvious as well as a veiled aspect. As such, these stories both conceal and reveal, and are capable of being understood to harbor multiple levels of meaning. So, they illustrate not only the literal world around us, they also show our inner lives and the possibilities for development they contain: we need to recover the ability to find ourselves in them, because they are about the suffering we experience and its causes, and they provide a way out of this that can be practiced.

About Matthew
Matt's a yoga therapist who has been practicing, studying, and teaching Yoga and Ayurveda for more than 25 years. I'm the co-founder of Circle Yoga Shala, a wisdom school in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Northwest Arkansas.
To understand and teach Yoga at any real depth requires sincere engagement with its traditional texts and philosophies. This requires several things: the ability to navigate history, symbols, and parables via both the intellect and the imagination; a cross-cultural comparison of this material with other prominent ancient philosophies and symbolic systems to discern subtle similarities and differences; and a genuine attempt at inner work guided by the principles and intuitions that emerge from such a study. All of this describes not only the work of Matt's adult life, but also a genuine passion that transcends his vocation, and reaches into a spiritual calling.Â
"The privilege of studying philosophy with Matt has been a potent force in my life for several years now. His style has an intensity that captivates the student in a way that provokes a call to contemplate something challenging."
